The American Sign Language (ASL) benefits counselor will assist consumers with a comprehensive intake, assessment of needs, benefits screening, information and referrals, and ensure appropriate follow-up of services. Chief Program Officer
CIDNY is seeking an experienced senior manager for a newly created position for an individual with a disability who embodies CIDNY’s mission and is invested in helping CIDNY continue to serve the community and build the disability rights movement. The ideal candidate is an individual with a disability with deep roots in the disability community who has experience overseeing all administrative and operational functions of a non-profit organization as assigned by the Executive Director. The CIDNY Chief Program Officer is a senior leadership and management position. The person will have important internal and external facing responsibilities. The Chief Program Officer will be a critical thinking partner to the Executive Director and will help shape the vision, strategic direction, and the organization’s priority activities. The Chief Program Officer will also help CIDNY deliver on its mission by ensuring that the programmatic work is carried out in a manner consistent with CIDNY’s values and goals.

Healthcare Advocate - IDD
The Health Care Advocate - IDD will assist individuals with disabilities as they transition into and navigate Fully Integrated Duals Advantage plans for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (FIDA-IDD). FIDA-IDD is a new program created to provide coordinated care for individuals with IDD who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligible). FIDA-IDD focuses on individuals who receive long-term care and IDD service needs. FIDA-IDD will offer more opportunities for individuals to direct their own services, be involved in care planning, and live independently in the community.

Independent Living Specialist
The Independent Living (IL) Specialist will report to the Director of Housing Programs and will work collaboratively with the Rapid Transition Housing Program (RHTP) Housing Specialist, as well as other programs at CIDNY. The LTCOP Ombudsman Advocate will represent the program by investigating and resolving complaints related to long-term care facilities. This position requires 3 days a week in the field, making visits to long-term care facilities in Brooklyn, and 2 days a week in the office, supporting the virtual call center. You will advocate for resident rights, provide educational presentations to staff and residents, manage high call volumes, ensure data entry accuracy, and collaborate with volunteers to handle cases effectively.

The Housing Intake Coordinator is responsible for managing the intake process for nursing home residents seeking to qualify for OHS housing subsidy. This role involves assessing eligibility, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring a smooth transition for residents into appropriate housing. The Housing Intake Coordinator will also determine if an applicant meets OHS program eligibility criteria and will also conduct regular housing workshops/ outreach throughout NYC.
