Director of Human Resources

Specific Duties:
- Monitor changes in employment law, participate in development and implement of any amendments to HR policies and procedures with emphasis on compliance with applicable laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Devise and execute a strategy for job postings, screenings, interviews and selection processes with a focus on recruitment of a knowledgeable and skilled workforce of people with disabilities, people who are Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian American, and LGBTQ.
- Reduce the turnover rate by 20% by hiring skilled professionals who are equipped to work with consumers with disabilities.
- Work with the General Counsel to ensure employment compliance.
- Identify employee education priorities, educate new employees and provide ongoing education of employees as required.
- Develop employee recognition and development strategies and manage employee relations.
- Manage complaint process, perform required investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management and terminations.
- Ensure appropriate record management.
- Collaborate with directors to develop job descriptions, educate and evaluate staff.
- Contribute information, analysis and recommendations on employee relations to strategic planning and CIDNY’s human resources objectives.
- Supervise one employee.
- Assist with the evaluation of cost comparisons regarding vendors for employee benefits.
- Report on all departmental activities to the Executive Director.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Director of Mental Health Services
CIDNY seeks a highly effective Director of Mental Health Services to assist in managing programs and service delivery to consumers with mental health disabilities served by CIDNY. The Director of Mental Health Services must have at least four years of mental health experience, supervision of personnel, and a proven record of operating a helpline that addresses the crisis needs of people with mental health issues. The Director of Mental Health Services will report to the Executive Director. The Director of Mental Health Services will coordinate the essential business activities of the mental health program for consumers served by CIDNY. The ideal candidate will be someone who can passionately support our mission of advancing the lives of people with disabilities and understands that mind and body wellness is an imperative relationship that must be maintained in tandem.

HBCI Crisis Interventionist
CINDY is seeking compassionate and skilled mental health clinicians to join CIDNY’s Home Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) team as Crisis Interventionists. This role provides intensive, short-term, home- and community-based crisis intervention to youth ages 5-20 with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and co-occurring mental health needs who are at imminent risk of psychiatric hospitalization.

LTCOP Ombudsman Advocate/Brooklyn/Queens Nursing Homes
The LTCOP Ombudsman Advocate will represent the program by investigating and resolving complaints related to long-term care facilities. This position requires 3 days a week in the field, making visits to long-term care facilities in Brooklyn and Queens, and 2 days a week in the office, supporting the virtual call center. OHS Housing Specialist
CIDNY is seeking a Housing Specialist will assist individuals in locating affordable housing options in NYC, helping them understand their rights in getting reasonable accommodations and home modifications, and providing advocacy services in order to resolve current housing issues. The Housing Specialist also provides housing subsidies to individuals transition or diverting from institutional settings in NYC to the community. The housing specialist will also conduct a regular housing workshop and outreach throughout NYC.

Transition Specialist
CIDNY is seeking a Transition Specialist for a new statewide initiative to assist individuals transitioning from institutional settings to the community. The Transition Specialist will facilitate and coordinate for individuals residing in institutions with a comprehensive plan to transition back to living in the community. The Transition Specialist will spend their work time in CIDNY’s Queens, NY office and traveling between boroughs.

Veteran Direct Care Independent Living Specialist
The Independent Living Specialist will report to the Director of Employment Vocational Rehabilitation Services and will work collaboratively as well with other programs at CIDNY. The Independent Living Specialist’s key role is to assist the Veterans with disabilities who are home bound and their direct care workers to execute activities of daily living tasks (ADL’s). Travel across the boroughs will be required.
