Chief Program Officer
CIDNY is seeking an experienced senior manager for a newly created position for an individual with a disability who embodies CIDNY’s mission and is invested in helping CIDNY continue to serve the community and build the disability rights movement. The ideal candidate is an individual with a disability with deep roots in the disability community who has experience overseeing all administrative and operational functions of a non-profit organization as assigned by the Executive Director. The CIDNY Chief Program Officer is a senior leadership and management position. The person will have important internal and external facing responsibilities. The Chief Program Officer will be a critical thinking partner to the Executive Director and will help shape the vision, strategic direction, and the organization’s priority activities. The Chief Program Officer will also help CIDNY deliver on its mission by ensuring that the programmatic work is carried out in a manner consistent with CIDNY’s values and goals.

Independent Living Specialist
The Independent Living (IL) Specialist will report to the Director of Housing Programs and will work collaboratively with the Rapid Transition Housing Program (RHTP) Housing Specialist, as well as other programs at CIDNY. CIDNY is seeking a Housing Specialist will assist individuals in locating affordable housing options in NYC, helping them understand their rights in getting reasonable accommodations and home modifications, and providing advocacy services in order to resolve current housing issues. The Housing Specialist also provides housing subsidies to individuals transition or diverting from institutional settings in NYC to the community. The housing specialist will also conduct a regular housing workshop and outreach throughout NYC.

CIDNY seeks a highly effective Reassurance Counselor to provide an active listening ear to our consumers and provide assistance with connection to community resources and services. A Reassurance Counselor must have excellent listening skills as well as excellent communication skills, all the while comprehending what the consumer is trying to convey. Every consumer is to be treated with dignity and respect. A Reassurance Counselor must be knowledgeable and respectful of all disabilities, cultures, and their associated stigma. Reassurance Counselor must have at least 2 years of experience working with the disabled population and no less than two years of experience counseling. A Reassurance Counselor must be open-minded and have flexibility in servicing multicultural consumers, LGBTQ consumers, homeless consumers, and more while providing support and resources.

Veteran Direct Care Independent Living Specialist
