In New York City, 52.4 percent of people with disabilities spend more than one-third of their income on rent compared with 42.1 percent of their non-disabled peers.
CIDNY provides referrals, assistance, and resources for people with disabilities looking for affordable and accessible housing. We are not a housing provider, but help people learn how to search for housing and housing subsidies so that they understand and can use online and other resources. We also help people with disabilities to avoid eviction. To get help, call us at 646/442-4156.
We host housing workshops on the second Wednesday of the month in Manhattan and the last Wednesday of the month in Queens. See our newsletter for more information.
