Emergency Preparedness
Overview Lessons Learned from 9/11 Resources

CIDNY supports all efforts to help people with disabilities prepare themselves for emergencies.  This approach is consistent with our fundamental mission “to ensure full integration, independence and equal opportunity for all people with disabilities”. CIDNY attends the Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) and sits on the Special Needs Task Force of the Citizen’s Corps Council. In these roles, CIDNY provides technical assistance to government and other social service agencies on ways to assist people with disabilities during and after emergencies.  If you would like to be involved in our Emergency Preparedness project, please contact Margi Trapani at mtrapani@cidny.org.
