CIDNY is a participating agency in the New York City-funded Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP), administered by the Department of Health's Division of Health Care Access and coordinated by the Community Service Society of New York.  MCCAP agencies, such as CIDNY, provide access to free, independent and confidential information and advice about commercial and publicly-funded health plans.

• MCCAP agencies conduct educational workshops and answer questions about managed health care systems.
• MCCAP agencies try to help you with problems you may be having with your health care insurance.
• MCCAP agencies provide support in completing health care applications or recertifications or in filing appeals.
