Get Counted in the 2020 Census
CIDNY believes that people with disabilities count. We want our voices to be heard and our issues to matter. If all people with disabilities get counted in the U.S. Census, it can help with resources for:
- Affordable and accessible housing
- health care coverage
- food programs like SNAP
- public school programs, including IEP programs
- public transportation, including accessible transportation
- political representation
The Census does not ask about citizenship status or for social security numbers, and individual information is not shared with any other government agency. Learn more by reading the Census 101 Fact Sheet and the Census and Confidentiality Fact Sheet. You count. You can help make sure that the government knows that people with disabilities are here and have a right to our fair share of resources. Watch/listen to people explain why the 2020 Census is so important to them in our videos here. Complete your Census 2020 Pledge today!
